I'd put Junji Ito as more "horror creepy" while Onimai's anime is more "I feel like I need to bleach my eyeballs" *weird* creepy.
Coming from the manga, the anime added a *lot* of "fanservice" that wasn't in the original (although all the piss-fetish stuff was the original author, that was just *weird.*) which *significantly* ups the creep-factor to me. As for the social interaction "age-gap" stuff, from what I can tell in the manga, most of the actually *weird* interactions are also weird *to mahiro* for exactly the reasons you'd expect them to be in real life, so I'd put most of the creep down to either "plot reasons", "comedy/drama", or "unintentional"? (aside from the piss fetish)

If that keepout on the rightmost module is for an antenna, I'd suggest flipping the module around so you can have that be at the edge of the larger board. Not sure it actually *matters*, but there's probably a good reason most of the boards I've seen do it that way?

My approach uses the wonderful "100GB of zeros compressed into 10MB and served with transport compression headers" which usually makes most poorly-written bots fuck off in short order when they OOM...

I found a manual for a near-identical board, and they indeed have one if the sketchy manual is correct, it's near the SATA ports. (the one next to the front panel connector is "boot when power applied")

some of the dedicated "landline replacement with battery backup" kit I've heard about over here are small little DC UPSes built into the modem (which has an ATA built in) and without the conversion losses of an AC APS or needing to power other kit, they can last "quite a while" from what I've heard.
The bigger problem out here is that junkies steal the batteries from ground-level plant equipment fairly frequently, so that battery backup on your modem ain't gonna do you any good since the node lost power...

Bad design, but at least gnome is generally A: *consistently* bad about this, so you know to watch for it, and B: has a 'tell,' in the form of the "close tab" X.
It's even more unclear in dark mode, as the folder backdrop and tab bar's base color *are the same color.* But the 'tell' is still there, which at least makes it obvious *once you know about it...* (linux and associated software really do have an [xkcd 2501](https://xkcd.com/2501/ ) problem...)

I *very* rarely hear the horn from Boston's trams*. Most of the time it's the polite "train is moving, stay out of the way" bell. Last time I heard the proper *horn* was when a car decided to run a red and play chicken with said tram in the process.

Depends on whether BL1 is open-drain or not. If it's not open drain, you risk burning it out with a 'dead short' to ground through the LED without a second resistor. If it is, then I see no reason why that contraption wouldn't at least somewhat work?

I [found a site](https://projectf.io/posts/video-timings-vga-720p-1080p/ ) that appears to have pretty comprehensive timings for multiple VGA modes.
If you're wondering how much time you have to fiddle with the framebuffer, it says it's 45 lines, or approximately 1.4ms of vblank. SVGA has a lot less room to work with, at approximately 0.7ms vblank.
