Portugal just shot up to fifth place on the Country Leaderboard after a little Spring clean of their data.
Merchant maintenance is a constant activity and requires PoW by locals.

Our @npub1rg3…d3r2 sponsored 'Verify the Planet' initiative has now come to a close.
Thanks to the PoW our Shadowy Supertaggers put in, we managed to:
1) Completely clear the legacy `currency:bitcoin` locations (either removing or updating them.
2) Get around 80% of the current 8,353 locations verified within the last year (average verification age is now around 180 days and falling).
Compare this situation to just 12-months ago when we had a pretty ugly dataset that nobody trusted.
What an achievement!

We're soft launching the BTC Map PoS!
Details:
- Built on LNBits 💪
- Web-based PoS, although can be used in conjunction with v cheap Offline PoS solution. 💳
- Custodial, although we can push funds to a non-custodial ⚡ address in real-time OR settle on-chain periodically (or at acertain balance threshold).
- No fiat off-ramp. We want to facilitate local P2P trading so merchants can sell 🌽 to local plebs at a KYC-free premium if they need dirty fiat. 🤯
