If I remember correctly, they did the same thing (unable to uninstall) with Win10/Cortana, but you could disable it in the registry. Wonder if something similar could be done with Recall.
In any case, Recall is an absolute shit show both security and privacy wise.

#Firefox will add tab grouping, vertical tabs, and profile management in the coming months
Set to rollout over the next year. Hopefully will make it more attractive for users to switch from Chromium-based browsers (or use other maintained Gecko forks.)

#PayPal is building an ad network based on your #Venmo data
Quoting: “If you’re someone who’s buying products on the web, we know who is buying the products where, and we can leverage the #data..."
They will collect this data by default - users will have to opt-out.
This will affect both PayPal _and_ Venmo users.

#Spyware found on US hotel check-in computers
pcTattletale is an app that captures screenshots of the machine it is installed on every few seconds and makes them available to whoever controls it.
In this case, it was installed on hotel front desk machines. It grabbed screenshots of customer data, which included partial credit card details.
Uh… and also, a vulnerability in pcTattletale leaks this information to the public internet.

Cisco Duo warns third-party data breach exposed #SMS #MFA logs
A service provider for Cisco Duo had a #databreach on 1 APR 2024 and accessed SMS MFA logs.
Attackers did not _send_ messages, but data accessed could be used in #phishing.
