Unfortunately, one disadvantage of the german gender self declaration law is that it is so poorly done.
Experts no longer judge on whether the application is valid.
That's good. No stranger should decide that.
However, the registry offices decide now, and they can reject the applications. If one gets to a transphobic clerk, it will be difficult to get the application approved.
Before the reform, you were at least able to select assessors upfront.

eslint and sonarqube can all be nice helpful tools. But they can be the opposite when there are rules which are just for enforcing a questionable code style.
IMHO, there is nothing wrong with string concatenation in JavaScript like: string1 + string2 . Some Lint rules require you to rewrite it like this:
`${string1}${string2}`.
And this is pointless and brings no benefit at all.

In my past, I consumed an unhealthy amount of alcohol on a daily basis. I'm clean since 2018. I'm quite resilient so I don't mind when others drink when I am around. Yesterday I tried out codeql which is a code scanning feature by GitHub.
It parses the code into an AST and puts it into a database, which allows to run queries against it.
Was quite impressed by it. It spotted a thing in a regular expression in my JavaScript code which is a security vulnerability.
But one thing Github also offers was to autofix the issue via Copilot. Copilot made the issue worse, it added the one missing 'g' modifier but it also removed all the 'm' (multiline) modifier.

Idea: make pictures unusable for AI by applying some gaussian blurs and noise displacement filters.Also gives it an artsy touch.
It won't affect image recognition too much, as images are scaled down for that purpose. Tried it and the image is recognized as an oil painting of a woman. I guess that will make it less useful for GenAI to roll new faces from it.

When it comes to accessibility, I sometimes think I it is best for me to keep it separated from my job. At work it's almost always a pain. It shouldn't be a pain. But the managers always manage to painify it. Like constantly devalueing it as not that important, saying "we'll do it afterwards" and so on. Until the point it is important. And then, there is no budget left and they need it for tomorrow. 🙈
Maybe do that web dev with accessibility in mind as a hobby. And monkey coder from 9 to 5.

This video on the linked bandcamp site is so wonderfully retro. Video alt: the video shows a very retro window manager of a 90's style operating system, somewhat similar to the Amiga Workbench, but more colorful. The colors constantly change (CW this can be problematic).

IMHO npm ci shouldn't throw an error when an npm project has a package.json with zero dependencies and thus no package-lock.json :). A return code 0 with a "package has zero dependencies, nothing to do" would be great.
This way, I could still use default github actions related to npm and javascript with packages who have zero dependencies. Right now, it requires to comment out the `npm ci`

I still have a lot of anxieties when it comes to reaching out to local trans peer groups. Mostly due to former experiences with transmedicals in a transgender community on the blue site back then in the past. I perceive those IAAP certifications around accessibility as a bit cult-like. In order to get certified as a WAS(=web accessibility specialist), you have to prove at least 3 years of experience in roles and responsibilities covering accessibility in at least 10 areas.
Then, many companies don't let you do practical accessibility work without proper certifications.
Also, those certs expire in 3 years 🙈
It's the opposite of making accessibility approachable IMHO.
