It took three tries, but I finally managed to cobble together a DIY air purifier for VOCs that my home VOC sensor (wildly inaccurate, but directionally useful) claims is sufficient for my space and VOC exposure.
A giant carbon canister, a vacuum HEPA filter, two PC fans (I started with one and upgraded based on sensor data)

@nprofile…cgs9 I’ve seen hobbyist (split ortho) keyboards that have a little Alps 5-way digital joystick on them. And there’s the Azeron Cyborg 2 with an analogue joystick. But I haven’t seen anyone shove, like, an NES rocker pad on a board.

I’m practicing using a trackball for the first time (as the most convenient pointing option for my “using an iPad in bed with my magnet-mounted keyboard” setup) and I’m both annoyed and impressed I’m actually adjusting.

A weird thing about my anti-inflammatory diet is I’m eating a fuckton of meat and fat (cooking with lard/tallow, eating lots of bacon, etc), and yet despite getting zero exercise I’m losing weight and weigh as much as I did in high school??
It’s difficult to balance not wanting to veer too close to unhealthy thought patterns with being legit excited that, when I inevitably re-gain weight, hormones are really gonna help with fat redistribution

Real talk: if any TTRPG friends have any experience with either play-by-post games that work well on slow timescales, or adapting games into that format, I’d love to figure out how to make that a part of my life. Could be forum RPing, could be an explicitly designed epistolary game where we write and mail handwritten letters, I don’t care.
But that sort of play pattern feels like something that could help bring chronically ill people together in a meaningful way.

Had an appointment with a long COVID specialist who told me there wasn’t much she could do for me, but had a few suggestions for unproven treatments that might make sense and some tweaks to my supplements. She charged $400 and doesn’t take insurance.
This was unironically *great* news, the most helpful medical appointment I’ve had in a long time, and was meaningfully cheaper than most of my other treatment options.
Just to try to emphasize to folks “avoid getting COVID”.
