honestly, I don't think we can do so until many more of us more thoroughly decolonize our minds.
We still have -huge- areas of limited understanding regarding -how many- ways authoritarian/coercive power has been normalized.
In practice, that means otherwise good ideas (related to equity based systems) routinely go to shit - because- those who end up "leading" don't truly embody them.

In reality, THOUSANDS of students at about 100 US college and universities walked out of classes and held protests demanding a ceasefire in Gaza on Wednesday (yet they receive far more subdued and less breathless coverage than tiny protests by a half a dozen bigoted abusive people protesting drag shows)

Remember when that cute term "bro code" was popular?
It described, but normalized: dudes defending dudes and/or uplifting other dudes, at all costs. Dudes sticking together as dudes -despite the harms to others.
Sticking to the bro code was invoked -instead- of supporting and uplifting those with good judgement.
But think about it: That very dynamic has been largely responsible for giving us the dystopia we currently live in. Maybe it's finally time to fully ditch it, boys.

@npub1323…65cn @npub1hyk…3p33 I got curious and found that yup, Blackrock and Vanguard are among the top five owners of both Verizon and Zoom.
Zoom is -much- smaller, but that's kind of the point: the right hand palms profits and grows zoom, while the left hand looks out of touch.
As you alluded to: A 400 million loss still leaves Verizon with 376.6 billion in estimated assets. Even losing that much a year for decades at a time is easily tolerable.

As is the case every day: Someone is wrong on the internet today.
And while it's easy to see when some people are blatantly acting in bad faith, others are more difficult to detect.
I think it's safe to assume that unfortunately, on social media, many people are not who they present themselves to be.
For me: If someone who presents as a liberal and says "leftists hate liberals more than they hate fascists" I'm gonna just fucking block them.
It's not difficult.

Translation: widespread belief in endless growth and exploiting everything in sight for profit (which is exactly what colonizers did, and we still do) has messed up everything, including our planet's health.
Dumping those stupid capitalist/colonizer ideas will also help with all kinds of social justice issues

I try to communicate how there are -tons- of big $$ efforts to keep people racialized and keep us all distracted, divided and conquered.
I try to normalize the idea that most of us have acquired many implicit biases that intersect with race and other social hierarchies. And that the biggest obstacle to our growth and transcending them is shame.
I talk about the fact that people do have different lived experiences with white friends and family using my own differences as LGBT
