I've thought of seeing what I can design and then use SendCutSend to fabricate. Can strip a lot of the bits away from the commercial stuff potentially, but don't know if it'd be cheaper honestly.
Some parts like card guides aren't that expensive to just buy, but maybe they could be designed to be 3d printable.
It's just a lot of yak shaving.

I really wish more places made Eurocard subrack enclosures. Schroff stuff is nice, but $$$. There's a few on Alibaba, but seem to have a minimum order of 10-100, which is more than a poor hobbyist like me needs.

I’m not sure how it is in EU but I feel like the US houses have basically given up on commodity PCB and are focused on HDI, class 3 work, RF, and such. But a regular 1.6mm 4 layer FR4 board? Nah.

Just the thoughts of some white dude, but… Black Twitter is absolutely a thing. It’s a huge thing. If you’ve not seen and understood it, well that says something about your circles. My black friends who have stayed on Twitter have done so because of this. it comes with a lot of downsides in supporting Musk, but so does losing that community.
I can’t speak to toxicity, I’m not the recipient, but when someone says “here is my experience” it’s your job to listen to them. Fix it.
