Addendum: The $3 barbecue Chicken was carry out only. In the 1990s there were almost no delivery services. The business model counted on the fact that if you walked up to the restaurant to get a $3 barbecue Chicken, you would probably also buy some other items.

Can you imagine how I would feel, knowing that the pyramid was built by an ancestor of mine who was a slave in chains, being whipped under the burning Sun of Egypt, as he, alongside thousands of other slaves, hauled huge stone blocks, to build a monument to the God-King-Pharaoh? Nothing else was possible, after his village was looted and the women taken away to be used. The Pharaoh was lord, and this was implicit, because power begets power.
Pyramids have aesthetic value, but they are not as innocent as a toddler's thumb-painting that you have pinned to the fridge.
The Sistine chapel ceiling is Art, sure. Commissioned by a genocidal hierarchy of conquistadors, colonizers, and imperial mindfuckers.
I am not proud of Mt. Vernon, though it is indeed, a beautiful plantation.

Pyramids might have existed to cement in the public mind, an hierarchy of power. The societies that built pyramids were hierarchical, and used huge amounts natural resources and labor to construct pyramids to reinforce the idea that hierarchical power structures were not only powerful, but an inevitable feature of Nature itself. Pyramids normalize, legitimize, and sanctify elitism, and distract the people from the notion that other, more egalitarian societies are possible. The US dollar bill and the eye in the pyramid are just a secret society playing God with people's minds.
