@npub1fuv…n47m veremos como se presta Plasma 6. Si su adopción es buena, y con los nuevas formas de creacion de compositores como Louvre, podriamos ver la resurgencia de antiguos WM's como compositores, por ejemplo, IceWM. Openbox ya tiene su espejo en Labwc. Asi como Compiz en Wayfire e i3 en Sway. Y con ellos, tambien deberian venir nuevos entornos de escritorio!!
Me pregunto que estaran trabajando los muchachos/as/es de Budgie!

@npub1fuv…n47m mayoritariamente funcionaran mediante xwayland. Lo cual es lindo pensar. No es que Xorg es reemplazado completamente por Wayland, si no que Xorg se vuelve parte de Wayland.

@npub1fuv…n47m ok. Que GPU tenes? Y que versión de Plasma? Idealmente, tener instalados todos los protocolos, usar la sesion de Wayland, ademas de los protocolos nuevos como xdg-desktop-portal, los drivers de tu GPU, etc.

@npub1fuv…n47m siempre va a depender, porque si entendes el conxepto de rolling-release, aun si recien arrancas, podes saber como actuar. Pero comparto, generalmente lo mejor es una distro estable, como Debian (aunque Debian tal vez es demasiado estable).

@npub1fuv…n47m Totalmente. El kernel es casi completamente libre, salvo algunos blobs binarios. Como dije, si no fuera por algunos fabricantes de equipo, no habría necesidad de que fuera así.
Creo que hay que seguir luchando por más hardware libre, para no estar atados a los grandes fabricantes.

Now, that Nvidia's fault, not Wayland's, but I understand perfectly your point.
How is theming with GNOME working out? AFAIK, after the introduction of LibAdwaita things got a llitle more... troublesome.

Just trying to make a distro with one DE is troublesome enough. The fact that you're working on it as you do is admirable.

@npub1fuv…n47m Lamentablemente, el diseño web esta muy enfocado hoy en día a hacer los sitios web "hiper interativos" a costa de la velocidad de ejecución, el minimalismo y el mensaje que se quiere proveer.
Y los ads, bueno, son un desastre que para mi ya se volvió inaceptable.

@npub1fuv…n47m Sep. Cuando la prioridad es el trabajo o facilidad de uso, Wayland esta aún lejos. Dicen que para KDE Plasma 6, Wayland va a ser default, asi que por ahi ya muchos usuarios se van a pasar directo.

1) Usar GNOME o KDE
2) Usar un compositor en vez de un escritorio
Wayland es totalmente usable. No se trata de Xorg vs Wayland, se trata más de trabajar en conjunto para una mejor experiencia. Según me consta, muchos devs de Xorg se pasaron al proyecto Wayland, así que es más una continuación.
