Also a short announcement: we're spending some time the next couple of weeks finishing up our internal moderated servers audit.
The primary focus of the audit is to apply the appropriate labels based on @npub1y2r…kvzk 's effort to standardize some of the ways we describe server-wide moderation decisions and is based on the language created by the DTSP. The list is here:

The outcome is that we'll be able to run queries on our moderated servers to see qty for each label.

Head's up: we've been troubleshooting an ongoing issue where approx 1/4-1/3 of reports are arriving without report data (blank reports).
We have been following up with some reporters to ask additional questions, especially if we can't reverse engineer the situation that prompted the report. That said, if you'd like to help: when you file your report please **always** 1 ) include a comment and 2 ) include the app name with iOS or Android (as relevant).

If you find that you are rediscovering a lot of well known bad actors, it might be looking into checking out Community blocklists to see if any of them are a good fit for you.
You can review what's on the blocklist as well.
Hachyderm's blocklist is ~400 instances. We're looking at applying tags so we can get more nuanced data out of them.
That said, blocklists aren't the only solution to hateful online content. They are just one step that will help you learn from what others have found. 2/2

There are a lot of repeat offenders that appear on the FediBlock list over and over again - not just when they're rediscovered but also over time.
If you're moderating a server, you please check and see if the instance you're about to report to FediBlock exists on one or more Community blocklists:
