@npub15ml…2w4s couldn’t quite decipher what you were talking about wrt to the photo edits. I think they are doing a pretty standard thing. It’s the original file with an EDL (Edit decision list). The filters are a LUT (look up table). They don't keep copies of the intermediaries, they just record the operations.

@npub1upk…tcwy it's basically a subset of each of your boxes. Usually, it's because GitHub has a better UI for it (like init or blame, imho), or I just don't try to run everything in one local copy. If I get into “trash my changes”, “troubleshooting”, or “editing history”, I usually just clone another copy. I consider the first attempt a draft.
The complicated features all make sense if you don't have room for lots of copies, or you prize offline work. But for a 10,000 file webapp, my way is fine.

@npub1upk…tcwy it looks like you use a lot more than I do. I really hate rebase and the problems that come with it, so try to never do it. For situations that do call for a rebase, I usually do that with a squash commit in a GitHub PR.
I think people are sort of right when they say git is simple. What is not simple is that the syntax is bespoke for each command. So, on a syntactic level, learning git is memorization. Like learning irregular verbs.

One thing you missed about the OpenAI stuff is that the board blew up a tender offer, where employees get money for their shares from a later-stage investor… https://www.reuters.com/technology/openais-86-bln-share-sale-jeopardy-following-altman-firing-information-2023-11-18/

@npub178r…qekt ah, ok. I think you can probably find something better from Pelican, though. I have something close to yours with no wheels. There should be a strap or something, sort of like the grids on a “tactical" backpack. I actually use a small Nike SB one most of the time https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004HZAX4C.

@npub178r…qekt I have a huge Burton camera backpack (carbon fiber frame). I think it would fit that kit, and the tripod could hang off a strap. I use a pretty similar Gitzo, but a less complicated head. I like an Arca-Swiss in the studio, though!

@npub1f6a…pnql Mmm, I think you are wrong here. It is really not difficult to give a Rust library a C API. You give the structs a C layout via an annotation, and then provide functions as a C library would.

@npub1eee…e209 I think the NVidia option would be to accommodate existing CUDA code, not for graphics or games. About the market size that Afterburner has.
I say this as someone sitting next a large AMD Threadripper machine with NVidia GPUs. I wanted to get the Teenage Engineering case, but the video cards don't fit.

@npub1eee…e209 there were NVidia cards in Macs for a while, and CUDA even worked on them. I could see them allowing the option of an NVidia card in the new one. My guess is they might do an afterburner kind of thing for authoring AR/VR content.
