Why have so many YouTube videos adopted the editing style of a series of Old Spice ads? Do people actually want a different filming environment for every sentence of a 10-minute video?

I'm putting together some feedback regarding the issues I've seen and been told about regarding registering as a PSF member at https://psfmember.org. If you've attempted to register as a PSF member (of any membership tier), have had trouble doing so for whatever reason, and are willing to share your experience, please PM me. My goal with this post is to remove barriers to entry, especially for membership tiers with voting privileges, and having more anecdotes will help me craft a better post.

In particular, I heard from multiple people this last election cycle that they gave up trying to enroll as a managing / contributing member because they were unable to find the proper links and information (that mostly exist at https://www.python.org/psf/membership-faq/#what-membership-classes-are-there), and I'd like to help remove this barrier.

I did the trendy thing of buying rollerblade wheels for my office chair that was already too tall for me even at its lowest setting. I've finally replaced them with a lower-profile (even lower-profile than the original hard plastic wheels) polyurethane set, and I notice an immediate improvement. Not perfect, but definitely better.

I recently added a couple of MoCA adapters (https://www.gocoax.com/ma2500d) to my network and have been super happy with them. All things equal, I'd rather have ethernet throughout the house, but this was a pretty great alternative without all the installation hassle.

Yes, that's definitely a factor (and often by design, i.e. many regional events _want_ to focus on their local communities). I'm just curious if there has also been some late demand for PyCon US that's been impossible to act on because the conference is already sold out. (Tried to check a few 2019 and earlier blog posts, and it does seem that six to eight weeks out is a common enough sellout time frame.)

As a point of comparison and contrast, I'm pretty used to seeing last-minute bumps in registration for regional conferences. I wonder if there has been demand for those late registrations that's less visible for a conference that regularly sold out (some times two months prior) pre-pandemic. Data about post-sellout ticket demand is probably spotty at best, but I'm sure some of us could dig up graphs of registration over time for regional events.
