@npub12ze…hunm Hey, I have recent experience with Windows... I had experience with Windows 7, and it yeah, kind of sucked... But one of my "clients" really wants Windows (because it's what he's used to), so that's what we went with. Man... Gentoo was *faster* to setup than Windows 11. Not even talking about how painful it was to setup Windows 11.

@npub12ze…hunm last cell phone I had, was *maybe* 3 years. But that was a smart phone. All previous phones technically are still functional, but many may no longer be supported by the network. Mind you, I have a client who went to get phone fixed (battery life wasn't good) which on being told to sign up for a more expensive contract, pay $60+ up front, I went and bought a replacement battery and so far have got about 4 more years out of it.

In fact I got a "recalculation" where they wanted their $50.00 back (I'm pretty sure it cost them more than $50.00 to in the end *not* get their $50.00 back, because the problem was with the tax preparer screwing up (I guess)). After getting that sorted, it was the last time I trusted anyone else to do my taxes. Good luck...

@npub1typ…c8hh Apple has done some pretty terrible stuff. I can't subscribe to an RSS (or at least couldn't on the old iPad) without using their News app. And that only allows me to subscribe to News that it has. So this doesn't surprise me, that for Podcasts it has done something similar.

@npub12ze…hunm 66K is pretty small by most standards. I'm about half way between Vancouver, and Calgary. 10K big city is about 80 km (50 miles) away. But there is only only 12km away. Just a lot more "hick", and another about 40km away, which is "commercial". All more or less in the same direction.

This morning there were 6 calls that I was aware of 1 no one answered, but likely was a scammer, 2 were household members looking for each other, and 2 were scammers who I was rude to, and 1 apparently was "someone" who failed to actually respond when talked to. The calls I answered (4 of them) were while I was trying to get dressed after what I'd *hoped* was a sauna. I *easily* could have been right nasty to people who didn't deserve it at all. I played games

@npub12ze…hunm I have never had any success with earbuds. So I've not really given the newer ones a go. Somehow the in ear canal ones are always either falling out or hurting my ears... And the cheap walkman ones feel like they're going *in* my ears... So over ear, or on ear is the only way I tend to go. And so far always wired.

OK, I can say that as far as I know, it's not ubiquitous so that's a key feature of being on the "bad font list". Most which are there, are perfectly fine fonts, that are frequently getting used in inappropriate ways. An actually *bad* font, often just doesn't get used except in some specific places.
Initially I felt, "god this is a horrible font," but then I looked and was, "nope, I just didn't much like it."

I sort of get that, as I feel it probably is for me, at times my eyes are totally not working. But I often also wonder, if there might be something "less comic" that would accomplish something similar. I've heard of Dyslexia font, but don't have enough experience to know if it would be useful similarly. It is less comic.
