Residential, so mostly non-yellow taxis, in later years uber drivers, stopping in no-parking zone to eat something (lots of discarded chicken wing bones and fast food soft drink cups to be cleared from curbside lane). Half suspect they were filled earlier in the day, the meal break was just first opportunity to get them out of the car.
Ah, now see, food service hadn't occurred to me. Makes more sense than hospital workers, who habitually peel off gloves throughout the day.

Used to work janitorial for a building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. In over a decade on the job, putting garbage to the curb thrice a week, and clearing detritus (wind-blown, poss. from some other recycling bin or pile), litter (evidently from local sources), unbagged dog shit, and abandoned, chained up, dismembered bike frames and junk filled carts, from over half a block of sidewalk, maybe saw a discarded latex glove once.
Far more common were water bottles full of piss.

So much discarded spare change to collect.
Still, now scratching head as to why folk are flossing in alleys.
But then, living in a city where folk trim their nails on the subway, perhaps alley flossing is just local hygiene culture and ought not think more on the subject.

Once again, visitors manage to see things that escape my notice.
Lived in New York near a decade without ever meeting the guy selling wristwatches out of his trench coat.
A friend visited from Pennsylvania; found the guy in about an hour. Granted, he was selling those knockoffs out of a briefcase, but same difference.
