I'm just a user, not a dev, so it's easy for me to say this and feel free to ignore my uninformed position, but... Let it struggle. Good stuff takes time and grows more resilient through the struggle. Seems like Nostr has had great legs already. I don't think we should seek mass adoption because privacy and censorship are not valued in society overall right now - it would be futile - and tricking normies into using it will help in the long run. It won't have mass adoption until those values return, and they won't for a long time or until a critical mass changed their minds. Until Nostr I hadn't used any type of social media for over a decade, and I just felt that Nostr was worthy of my efforts to participate. We have to keep going as the minority.. the 20% to make 80% of the change

When I was a kid my dad took me to see The Santa Clause in theaters. This song was in that movie. Since that day as a kid I cannot hear this song without thinking of that movie, and going to the theaters with my dad. Miss you dad. Watched the movie last Christmas after a very long time, and will do the same every year if I can.

Just finished listening. The last bit, where he gets into the 4th turning was so good, I immediately ordered the book. It made me wonder "what can I share, in my Legacy journal (also thanks to this show), that will convey this cyclical time nature of man, and that will help my great grandkids in THEIR fourth turning?" The crisis is different every time, but we will still be people and there has to be lessons learned to help them get through it. I haven't formed all my thoughts on this but it feels extremely profound and important.

Ron Paul was the last real, authentic national political figure. Everyone, even those I'd call the "good guys" have flip flopped (MAYBE not Masse-ill reserve judgement on him) to on degree or another. Ron never felt like he was giving you a line of BS. Even Rand Paul and Ramiswami have good ideas but they dont always feel genuine when they talk.. its too slimy. Ron talked like he was that friend your dad had for 40 years and you called him "uncle" and was trying to to give you life advice and didn't hold back. Gave it to you straight, and always sincere. Anyway I don't think we will have another like him. He was like the political Lorax of the US. The degeneracy of society and the nature of the State in general has whittled down those willing to participate to now only those who will capitulate.

I like this podcast... I do NOT like the show on Amazon Prime - it's strangely like violence and gore porn-completely unlike the podcast-really off-putting.
Anyway, This episode was very interesting. I never knew there were popular books supposedly written by the dead and transcribed by people in early 1900s via Ouija boards. Nuts! One ghost author that became well known was Patience Worth. One woman also claimed she transcribed a novel by Mark Twain that turned out to be garbage. While this woman went to her deathbed insisting she really did communicate with Mark Twain, it turned out she really had corresponded with him while he was alive, and on one of the letters from her in his possession he apparently scribbled "idiot".

Question to myself: Can I trust a trans person? If they are mentally ill, and believe they are the opposite sex of what their genetics dictate... can I trust them to be informed and intelligent? I haven't decided, but my gut reaction is "of course not, how can I?". Could I trust someone who doesn't accept physical reality? At what point does a person become considered "insane"? I guess that's different for everyone. I try to follow the "don't trust, verify" motto anyway, but it was something I grappled with today. Wouldn't have expected to have to ask myself this question. I try to be empathetic.

Not surprisingly, human relations are more complex than they seem when digging in. I see "obedience" as implying AUTHORITY. Husbands don't have authority over wife's in my view. Each have different gifts and inclinations and strengths that are supposed to synergize and play on each other's strengths. For me, the "trad" criteria is recognizing gender roles, of which leadership and decision making is one for men. And a woman recognizing that this is a role the man plays, also has her role in supporting, providing critical views for consideration where needed, and counsel, oftentimes follows because she doesn't wanna make the decisions and she had already been brought in the process. These roles overlap in different areas. There is also the dynamic of in the home vs outside the home, too much to expound on.
