Exit poll European elections in the Netherlands: not too bad. Greens+SocialDemocrats probably the largest (8 seats), Wilders' far-right PVV 7 seats, that's +6, but at the expense of Baudet's far-right FvD (from 4 to zero).

It's wet in the Netherlands these days. We just had the wettest October on record, and lots of rain already in November too.
During the past 113 years, the average rainfall already increased by 26%, in line with climate predictions.
But it is less well distributed over the year. (Doesn't show in this graph)

In the year I was born (1960), atmospheric CO2 concentration at Mauna Loa was 317 ppm, 39 ppm above the pre-industrial average, and growing at 0.5-1 ppm per year.
Now, it's 421 ppm, 143 ppm above pre-industrial, and growing at 2-2.5 ppm per year.
This needs to stop. Obviously.

Yes, these flights are probably mostly used by transfer passengers, traveling to Brussels via Amsterdam etc. But they should take the train too..

There's a direct train connection between Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and Brussels (200 km, 1.5 hours by Thalys).
And still, @klm operates 4 return flights Amsterdam-Brussels today.

Derna, before and after the flood. I think the 3 buildings on the Mediterranean coast, left of the river, can be recognized in both pictures. A lot of buildings simply don't exist anymore.

Neymar's trip cost two times 5,000 km (Paris-Riyadh) times 12 liters of kerosene per km = 120,000 liters of kerosene. Imagine burning 1,000 bathtubs full of smelly kerosene to get the picture.
That emitted 300 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere, and indirect global warming effects of flying roughly doubled the climate impact.
