@nprofile…k6yr I disagree on the Kardashev scale. It's a good way to help discussions like this about terraforming, energy use, etc. It was even extended by Carl Sagan, et al.
But just talking about mars. I'm familiar with the Oklo Gabon nuclear reactor. It's interesting but was also completely random, uncontrolled, and potentially very isolated as a source like what would be needed on a planetary scale.
Maybe, if the scientists are right and the core is some kind of thorium reactor, Mars either didn't have enough to sustain its core or something poisoned it.
Okay, going to totally throw this out there but, maybe proximity to Jupiter. Just look at the astroid belt.
Okay, I gotta stop now. I'm now falling down the same rabbit hole and I need to get back to work. 😐

@nprofile…k6yr I think that's in the purview of a civilization existing between Type I and Type II civilization on the Kardashev scale. We're in Type I but we're also trying really hard to ensure we never make it out of Type I.

Regarding AI. Don't worry when someone tricks an AI chat bot into giving instructions for a bomb or making drugs, or other things that society might find problematic. Instead, worry about how the big tech companies are training their AI to refuse providing information that used to be easily obtainable on the internet. Big Tech AI is the antithesis to the free flow of information, it is not an agent to benefit you, it never was.

Regarding the attempted assasination of #FPOTUS #Trump today, regardless of intentions or if this was staged or not, and I don't know at all what's true and isn't. I do know that shots like this have a historic tendency to be heard around the world.
If you're currently not concerned about the future of the United States, our political stability, and the outcome of the coming US election, you absolutely should be.

Something that I noticed that I'm quite proud of since I started seeing a behavioral therapist and a psychiatrist (a one-two punch for headspace help), is that with the right kind of cognitive support with the aid of medications as a tool to help, I am now keeping up with my email and going so far as removing myself from all the mailing lists I found myself on.
Turns out getting help for your neurodivergance helps keep your inbox clean. :D
