My first ever Ph.D. student just submitted her first ever first-author research article to the journal, and uploaded it to ArXiv, the online preprint server, and I am honestly almost as proud and excited as when my own first paper got out into the World.

When doing #Astronomy #Outreach, I have always told people that Earth's moon is unusually large compared to the Earth's own size. I think it came across, but I was always frustrated I couldn't come up with a better way to illustrate it.

#Astrophysics incoming!
My very capable former colleague here in #Stockholm, Dr. Alexandra le Reste (who is not on this platform), has made a very interesting discovery over the last couple of years, and she has a press release out about it today.
She has been studying a #galaxy that a lot of us in Stockholm have spent a lot of time studying, including myself. But where most of us have studied it in normal light, Alexandra has looked at it in 21cm. radio waves... 1/n
