I was recently watching a video on a channel on YouTube that is focused on the environment.
I guess I knew this intellectually, but it hit me emotionally that they brought up that plastics are largely made of fossil fuels. At least in the USA, plastic use is very rampant and can hardly be avoided in modern times.
So even if we as a society switch to alternative fuels for vehicles and other machines, we will still be depleting fossil fuels.
My husband and I have always been firm users of recycling (and yes, I'm aware of that fallacy), but didn't realize this impact of buying products made or wrapped/shipped in plastic materials. I daresay this is going to guide my purchasing decisions going forward.

What are other people's strategies for remembering the specific types of flowers and trees in their yard? Is there specialized software out there that can do this?
It seems one could build a spreadsheet with the name, a picture, where it is located, and when it was acquired, but this sounds a bit unmanageable in practice.
