@npub1adn…cxgy Originally called the "Goshen Rosenwald School" it was segregated and closed in 1951 when it was bought by the United Methodist Church

@npub1adn…cxgy I'd love that. I worked out who hit Avant with his car, he was 76 and never prosecuted for it. Larkes Winfield Cable, a resident of Greensboro, died age 79 after "a long illness". > I wonder if he was also injured in the crash?
I've been trying to work out which historic marker from online sources but so far no luck.

@npub1adn…cxgy It's the United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on what is now Randleman Road. Not clear which building the segregated school was. There seems to be a historic marker outside. If you go by there sometime, I'd love to know what it says...

Clarence Avant, the "Black Godfather" was notoriously dismissive about his roots, and where he was born. I'm into my second week of poking around in his and his mentor Joe Glaser's history. Glaser was more significant than I realized...
Today I found that Clarence Avant was hit by a car age 13 going to/coming from school. - Avant born 1931 in Greenboro NC and went to Goshen school in Climax, NC, just 17-miles away.
