@nprofile…66kr I have their older Thunderbolt enclosure. It’s plastic and cheap, but reliable and super fast. It’s also quite slim. I was looking at USB4 options, but all of them had a fan inside, and were quite chunky.

@npub1ept…jcl3 Absolutely proves the point made in the infamous Vulture article (The Binge Purge): without strict creative control and supervision — a crucial part of TV before — today’s television has become artisanal and highly segregated. The “good” is no longer uniform, but is broken into pieces, allowing such idiosyncratic tastes to blossom.

@npub1yyx…qa5g There are many reasons for Apple’s attitude towards repairs, and economic (chasing the profit) is certainly one of them, but not the one. I remember replacing the screen on my iPhone 6 in a non-certified repair shop, and even though they claimed the new screen is the original OEM part, my polarized sunglasses started blocking the screen, which never happened before. Controlling the repair market is also meant to ensure the quality, which is not the last thing on Apple’s list.

@npub1j46…3gm7 Well, another solution is place the icons on static part of the machine, like they did here. Locked icon is covered by the lever.
