Tonight: 92% of the moon! This is my first attempt with a 2.25x barlow and I really like the amount of detail. The moon was fairly low in the sky when I took the image, which is why it has the yellow tint.

More tropicals in New England! I spotted this red goatfish on a dive back in late July at Folly Cove in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Goatfish are quite common in the Caribbean and use their chin barbels to probe the sand for snacks.

Northern Puffers are native to New England, but I mostly see them on night dives. On this particular night dive at Folly Cove in Gloucester, MA, there were dozens of 2-3 inch long tiny puffers resting in the sand.

My dry suit recently sprung a small leak in the wrist seal. I decided to do my own wrist seal replacement, so I wrote up a blog post about it.
