I know exactly what kind of person Will is, I dealt with his type on XDA for almost a decade. If he really cared as much as he says he does, he would be developing for Android.
You don’t get to say you’re all about freedom and then drop an update to an app that is only available on an OS who’s priorities are the complete opposite of that.
Don’t even get me started on him, monetizing TestFlight or asking $50 for a $3 hat and trying to justify it by saying it goes towards payroll. IDGAF where it goes, but you have to allow the person to think they are, at the very least, not getting ripped off.

In 2020, I much rather would’ve liked to see what a libertarian could do. I didn’t want the tangerine turd back and I sure as hell didn’t want someone who has been in politics for over half a century with little change to anything.
I didn’t know much about Jo Jorgensen but maybe that was a good thing. It’s been clear for decades that the two party system is broken, something needs to change, that seemed like a great opportunity. Instead, we got four years of sleepy Joe and the erasure of biological sex.
I’m not sure if there was a third party this time, but it could’ve been peewee Herman and I would’ve voted for him before either of these two shmucks.

Honestly, the only thing you need is a FAQ section on ALL of the clients, that includes an updated list of wallet/exchanges that work in countries that restrict bitcoin in one way or another.
This will also include a cheat sheet of the most commonly used words and their meaning. That will allow people to understand the vernacular a lot faster and allow them to start stacking without spending four months like I did trying to figure everything out.
All of this could be added to GitHub for optimal efficiency.

iOS or Android. If iOS, you could try freefrom, from the playstore or you could try freerse. They have a TestFlight build of that one but I’m not sure if it’s newer or the same as the App Store version.
If Android, I have only heard people use amethyst, so I don’t know of any other you could try.
You can always do what I did when I first found this place. I went through all of the clients and figured out which one I like best.
For me, @npub1yzv…rf8q blows all of the others away but there is a lot to load so I probably wouldn’t recommend trying it until you’re on WiFi, so you can get the best experience.
Try those first two I mentioned, they are very minimal, and go from there.

I know there is an app to store it in, but that’s just trading one attack vector for another.
I wonder if there is a way to make your nsec only visible client side, so there is no way to extract it from the client itself.
Sort of how you can use a cloud storage app that has client side encryption so that the server maintainers don’t have access to your info.
Right now, my biggest worry, especially with most of the clients being open source, is that someone will figure out a way to gain access to a user’s nsec.

Y’all deserve it, truly. I had given up on Nostr as it seemed like the client devs were more interested in building a reputation for themselves rather than focusing on what could actually make this protocol great.
Trying to understand lightning when you’re brand new is a big ask, for the first couple of months I must’ve tried all kinds of wallets and between not knowing enough about them to make an educated decision, and being an American, where the powers that be don’t want to see us get ahead, they are perfectly happy holding their foot on our necks. So, just when I think I found a wallet that would works, I find out it’s no longer supported, my government made Apple pull the apps, and this has happened quite a bit.
So, when you guys came up with the idea of supplying the channel required for lightning payments and made getting a wallet EXTREMELY easy, and also allowed us to tie it to our Nostr account, you just cut right through everything that would normally make a person turn away, so that even a person with zero knowledge could get started quickly.
No other client has done this. Like I said, primal is close but nowhere near the same functionality.
Everybody praises Damus, but y’all are the true unsung heroes of Nostr and I thank you for it. 🙏🏻

It’s the best client available, IMO.
It’s the only client that actively creates ways for users to get engaged. They also figured out a way to bring in revenue for the project without having to extort their users for it.
They are also the only client that you don’t need a lightning enabled wallet to use because they offer you one, and this wallet works outside of YakiHonne as well. So, you basically have a lightning channel that you didn’t have to pay to open.
Primal comes close, but their wallet only works with primal, it’s also a KYC wallet which isn’t really a good option.
The team is incredibly humble and very nice to talk to and open to suggestions.

It really is. Setting up a wallet for a beginner can be a pain in the ass, depending on what wallet you use and what client you want to use it with. This eliminates all of that while also offering another layer of security to the user.
Instead of having to have a wallet you use for other things, tied to here, you generate a wallet, completely separate from your others, and load that with some sats.
Normally this would be a bit cumbersome but y’all have made it extremely easy to do. And you can create multiple wallets to create even more layers of security between your information and Nostr.

Wow, you guys have been busy. Completely redid the UI and added that lovely wallet feature. I generated a wallet and loaded it easier than I ever have before. About to test the send function of the wallet, but this is a game changing feature.
It’s like having the benefits of a built in wallet, like primal, without having to sacrifice personal information to get it.
