It was a pain in the neck but I figured out the Thrustmaster Cougar throttle quadrant wiring.
Turned out that the speed/brake toggle was broken. The plastic casing gave up and wiggled around in it's socket resulting in it's toggle inside to no longer trigger. I used a bunch of zip ties to keep it in place. Not beautiful but that'll do. For a while.
Also figured out the button matrix this thing uses and I'm pretty sure I can program the Pro Micro on this. Going to add it as a shield on top.

@npub1nqp…w9sy @npub15lc…hwxl that may be the case for TrackIR, which I have a lot of other beef with already. A _real_ solution would be something agnostic like UDP.
I don't have TrackIR software but I have to use this sickening approach because guess what… they tried to clamp down on this throwing loosely related patents around scaring anyone into leaving the market.
In other words I'm using unsanctioned software for my head tracking. Again. Not for cheating but out of necessity.

Did that myself before for a game that didn't feature MAPS but would output location data so we used tesseract to draw our own maps.
Some games in the past had the glorious idea to hide the crosshairs. A stupid Fineliner and a dot on the monitor fixed that 👍
And do I really have to remind you how much _flight software_ or companion apps requires features like memory mapping for a more immersive experience?

@npub1nqp…w9sy that requires trusted boot with remote attestation and one of the reasons everyone started crying when TPM requirements made it into Windows.
I like TPM when it does something for me that I wanted of it. Like sealing disks.
You suggested to hand over control to a 3rd party authority "that can be trusted".
That's naive at best.
