@npub1mhp…6t73 I think Bill has nothing to do with Microsoft’s poor decision making since at least a decade. He’s been mostly busy with his charitable foundations for a while now.
That being said, keeping a healthy Windows system running is no easy task, and in my experience requires years of trial and error. No mom should endure that. So give her a nice Ubuntu install with Firefox and the uBlock Origin extension. As a bonus, set the default search engine to Ecosia. She’ll love it. 🐧

You see, that’s the real problem here. Why would you ever want such kind of function? That’s a clear violation of SOLID principles.
Most of the complaints I see about dynamic languages go like this. It’s never about the typing. It’s always another issue with the code, which people try to compensate for by using types.
Heed my words: “type safety” is a myth, it more often than not masks other issues.

stevejobs@apple.com
billgates@microsoft.com
What makes no sense whatsoever is this current trend seen on too many services nowadays, where a user handle already starts with @, making it redundant and deprived of any meaning.
