Had a power outage yesterday that lasted from before dinner to after bedtime. Funny how in a modern household neither gas nor water is as critically, immediately important as what connects your internet of shit devices, to say nothing of the server in the garage. I have battery backups, but none that last that long. It wasn't too terribly bad to get things squared away this morning, but still, what a pain in the ass.

While sitting brother's dog, she disappeared when I was mounting a bike rack to the car & didn't come when I called her. This is unusual, as she's curious but stays close. In a mild panic I biked up & down the street calling her, only to find her held by crunk neighbor who surely saw her here before & called my brother instead of bringing her back. So much unnecessary drama. People.*
