Absolutely, I often use that as a technique in coaching people with goal setting in the affirmative. People will often say, “I don’t know what I want in x area of my life” … let’s say we are talking about love relationships, so I say, tell me about all the things you didn’t want in your previous relationships and then we flip each “don’t want” on its head to find their “wants”.
It’s fascinating how humans often have a blind spot for our desired outcomes but we are super clear, focused even, on our undesirable outcomes… yet we find ourselves bewildered/upset when we call in our undesirable outcomes.

Was walking barefoot in the park today and bumped into a longtime acquaintance who has long been a snide Bitcoin sceptic. He revelled in pointing out every Bitcoin dip in the last bear cycle, knowing we’d bought at previous cycle ATHs. He noticed my bare feet and said in his snide tone … “oh, so you’re one of those people” I smiled and happily replied, “Yes, healthy and rich! Go figure…”

Yes you are correct partially however, you can’t live in a Bitcoin. Thus on a Bitcoin standard you either use Bitcoin to buy a house or you continually pay out Bitcoin to pay your rent. Either way you will have to exchange Bitcoin for a roof over your head.
I honestly believe a mortgage will no longer be a viable option thus do you buy or rent becomes the only question. I see a stability value in buying as I believe many people will.
Agreed that houses will no longer serve as an investment except for scarce land value. Is residential land scarce with a declining population? Arguably not however something like ocean/river/lake frontage is still likely to be sought after.
Once Bitcoin has monetised and realestate demonetised I believe people will exchange Bitcoin for the utility value of family home vs renting.
Just like people buy a car (depreciating asset) vs using an Uber.

After diving down the Bitcoin rabbit hole and re-emerging with a new paradigm it took me a while to be able to step back into my old paradigm and see things through my old eyes and through the eyes of my pre-Bitcoin friends and family who thought of Bitcoin as an investment similar to company shares.
When I did, I laughed out loud at how ridiculous I must look through their paradigm. Imagine if you told everyone you were going to travel locally, interstate or internationally to meet up with a bunch of strangers who, almost instantly, become some of your favourite people on the planet, to discuss BHP shares for hours/days on end and have the best time EVER doing it.
Once I had that moment of understanding it gave me the empathy and patience to explain to pre-Bitcoiners that Bitcoin is not an investment. Bitcoin is a base layer shift in the protocol of inter-human communication.
What is Bitcoin communicating? Value.

Epilepsy… sorry to ask, I’m not a doctor, but I just want to ask in case it hasn’t come into your radar yet. Have you tried eating keto or carnivore? It occurs to me that much of the brain misfiring we are suffering in our modern world is potentially linked to chronic inflammation. Eating keto or better yet, nose to tail carnivore, massively reduces inflammation. If you haven’t tried it yet, it might be worth giving it a go for as little as 2 weeks (must be 💯 strict to work - unlimited qty, extremely limited selection… carnivore = unprocessed meat, fish and eggs, no sausages) and just see what happens.

Hey Dan, I’m guessing you are middle class, first world, please correct me if I’m wrong. I’m guessing this because a fast monetisation would benefit you more than just about anyone else on the planet.
Fast is bloody. Slow is less bloody and allows for a more even dispersion. I pray for my sake, the sake of my kids, the sake of the hungry little African kids that Bitcoin monetises very slowly… 3 generations is the Chinese saying on change, 60yrs.
This is a one time chance for better economic dispersion and it is an amazing opportunity to take back some of humanity’s blood sweat and tears from the looters and the moochers but especially from the looters.

Only just learn this the other day. Mostly for those who are DCAing into BTC. Apparently, when you have accumulated a sizeable stack that has been made up of lots of small qtys of Sats over time, sending those Sats as a lump sum into a new wallet address is how you consolidate UTXOs.
If you have aped in, in a lump sum than UTXO consolidation is likely not necessary. That’s my understanding.

I am well aware this is not a ‘scientific’ observation however I think it critical to note that I don’t recall people having skin cancer and certainly not dying from it until we started lathering ourselves with harmful chemicals.
All to avoid exposure to the very power source that powers everything on this planet and that we’ve evolved from the very first single cell life form, not just to expect exposure to but also to accept and utilise energy from.

Just start.
Put it out there on meet up/Nostr/other social media etc
Make it the same day/time each month… for example: 6pm, first Thursday of each month.
Keep it consistent… it doesn’t matter if there are only 2 or 3 of you that show up for the first few months… just keep doing it regardless of numbers, it will grow organically.
Never/ever cancel a meetup, decentralise as quickly as you can so that if you can’t be there, someone else can run it.
Most importantly, just start.

Just testing this hypothesis… with Bitcoin as the base layer system, is lightning not simply a L2 service on top? As a service or technology on top of a system, if it proves to be not a satisfactory service over time (aka becomes too centralised) doesn’t that simply open the door for a improved L2 tech to step in and fill the void?
