@nprofile…k0zs A friend of mine grew up in Yakima, and recounts his father shoveling ash off the roof of their house to prevent it from collapsing from the weight. My father used to rake snow if our roof in Minnesota for the same reason, so I get it, but it still blew my mind to think about ash like that.

@npub1t5m…9guy there’s so much that needs to get re-thought to get the US there. I want to live close to transit and walkable amenities, but have kids that need safe outdoor space and so many cities have de-invested in parks Ana other public spaces; that makes it hard to not be in the suburbs, which suck for transit and walkability.
