Playing with a new experimental tool "dilloc" to control #Dillo from the command line via a UNIX socket. Here is a simple example to open the current page in the reader view plugin (in the same tab):
% dilloc open rdrview:$(dilloc url)
The "dilloc url" command prints the current tab url to stdout, which can then be easily manipulated. Here is another example with sed, to redirect the current tab to the old reddit interface:
% dilloc open $(dilloc url | sed 's|www.reddit.com|old.reddit.com|')

Support for brotli just landed in #Dillo. It should reduce the HTML transfer size by about 20% when compared with gzip.

@nprofile…fnwg this is a limitation of FLTK 1.3 which doesn't perform glyph substitution from other fonts. It is solved on the new release 1.4 series, however, there are other serious rendering bugs that we need to fix before we can make the switch.
In the meanwhile you could try using a font that has good coverage of latin and japanise glyphs, but there is no good solution.

@nprofile…50l9 the way I think about it is the hand cursor is an indication that clicking will result in a request to the server. A button could be morphed into text that doesn't have any indication that can be clicked as well (not in Dillo), so I would imagine having the hand to always indicate interactivity could be useful.

On Dillo I get a stable fingerprint (the same for all Dillo users) unless loading CSS and images are disabled, which generate different ones for each combination.

Support to open URLs using external tools just got merged. Now you can open a YouTube video directly from #Dillo.
You can add as many menu entries as you need and specify how the URL is passed to the external program in the configuration file.

It looks some CSS rule is causing the text to spill out of the viewport. I guess Dillo is using 100% of the viewport rather than the parent container.

#FLTK 1.4.0 has been released! 🥳
Among the long list of improvements, it includes proper support for High DPI displays which would improve how #Dillo renders websites across different screens.
It would take some time to port Dillo to FLTK 1.4.0, but it is worth the effort.

I'm surprised I can use the #GitHub website in #Dillo to develop Dillo itself. Logging in with two factor authentication, opening issues and PR, commenting, looking at the CI logs, all seem to work without JS.
