I'm an #autistic man that has never been formally #diagnosed as autistic. I discovered that I was probably on the spectrum a few months ago. I believe that it is my #cancer that altered my #brain in such a way that I am less able to #mask now.

@npub1094…2wum Is there a way to make an entire discussion disappear from my timeline.
I've tried "Filter this post" but that does not seem to do it. It makes the original post disappear, but the replies are still visible.
I'd like something that allows me to send to the bit bucket everything: the post and its replies, and boosts.

I feel like crap today. The day started well and then... gut issues... energy issues. 😩
Maybe the gut issues are caused by my autism, and my energy issues are caused by my gut issues. Who the hell knows?
(If you wonder about gut issues and autism, I read that these are apparently common in autistic folks, and with the cancer that reduced my ability to mask, I think some of the ways in which my autism shows up are somatic... so... 😩)
If you wonder, my gut issues are not on the dramatic side. I go to the bathroom more... almost like an indigestion, but not quite. No pain.
I've been working in my office, but I just got out of there to get on my reclining couch, and chill.

@npub1mew…tau6 I've been trying to explain lately why I'm honest with people. I do have a theory.
Am I able to lie? Yes, for sure. 2 + 3 = broccoli. There! I've lied. However, this lie is a trivial one without consequences.
However, the bigger the lie, the more energy it takes for me to maintain it. This is energy that I don't feel like spending on maintaining lies.
If I'm coerced, I can utter big lies, but I prefer not to.
I don't know if anyone resonates with this, or has other explanations.

Good god! I'm looking for a good vegetarian tofu stir fry recipe, and the articles I find have a TON of blah blah blah blah blah bloody blah before showing the bloody recipe.
It would make more sense to put the recipe first so that I can decide quickly whether reading the blah is worth my time.

Okay, so it looks like I do need earplugs for a good night of sleep now.
I've needed them before.
One month ago I definitely did not need them.
Now I need them.
Next month? Who the fuck knows? 🤷
It would be nice if the needs I have at night actually remained... you know... stable? 😩
(I'll note here that there was no discernible sound last night that I had to block.)

It is not even 2pm yet and my day has been rather eventful:
1. Went grocery shopping.
2. Picked up a prescription from CVS.
3. Got another prescription moved.
4. Cut my hair.
5. Unclogged the bathroom sink. I had a notion that it was clogged but I had proof today after my haircut. (Yes, I cut my hair myself.)
6. Took a shower.
7. Cleaned the bathroom floor.
8. Profit?
Not sure what else is in store for me today.

Well, I talked to my #father. It was so uplifting. What with him dismissing my #autism by repeating the platitude that "everybody is a little #autistic."
I'm wondering if he is refusing my self-diagnosis out of some sense that if he accepts my diagnosis, then this would mean that he failed me as a child. 🤔
Newsflash: he did fail me as a child, and I already know this, autism or not.
Yep, my legs were tingling with #anxiety. (I call it anxiety-induced paresthesia. Yes, it is a thing. I don't know of a better term.)
Then he wonders why I don't want to talk to him.
It is also ironic that Autistic Pride Day falls on the same day as Father's Day.
