Something that puzzles me - people who switch from one DAM to another, like Lightroom to Capture One: None of them have compatible sidecar formats, so what happens to your entire history of edits? Do you just convert everything to JPG and "lock them in" to a look forever? Or just start over and leave the old images behind?

I've made a nightly habit of spending 20 minutes on glass.photo, exploring the work of my growing network of new friends and finding new ones. Full screen on the 27" monitor, the resolution is fantastic, as is the UX. I've never felt more at home on a photography platform than I do on Glass. There's no algorithm so it takes time to find your groove there, but start participating in the comment threads and man does it pay off.

Joshua Tree 2024
Amy and I spent the first days of April in Joshua Tree, and had an amazing time exploring the boulders and cactuses (monzogranite and cholla).
The hikes there are mostly short - pull over, do a mile or two, get back in the car and find another. But some are longer, like the day we veered off the Split Rock trail to find the Miners' Boulder Cabin, which gold rush miners created by finding a natural

Norway is one of the coldest countries, but also has the highest #ev adoption rate in the world, but they don't have charging debacles like the one making the news here recently. No big mystery - comes down to user education and better infrastructure. We'll get there.

@npub1503…uxwg I wasn't really thinking about color temperature - just trying to keep the tripod upright and the tree framed in the dark was challenge enough out in the middle of nowhere. Guess I got lucky with the headlamp :) Thank you.

I can't get my mind around the instinct to hoard everything. People who keep all of the email, all of the photos, all of the music. For me it's a constant battle to delete. To prune relentlessly, ruthlessly, unforgivingly. No matter how much I delete, there's still too much, and zero point in keeping the rest. Especially with #photography - delete delete delete! Distill, curate, find the quality.
