Can anyone recommend a JTAG for ARMv8? Preferably something with good speeds, openOCD is a bonus, but I'd rather speeds and features. For $dayjob so budget doesn't matter lots.
Currently eyeing the J-Link Pro, they have some gdbserver implementation which seems nice. But would love to get some anecdotes/advice since I have zero JTAG experience...

just merged #Linux next into @postmarketOS along with the new Trailblazer 🚀 device.

The main thing I'm excited about though is that the linux-next package will automatically update itself daily. First one is already through: https://gitlab.com/postmarketOS/pmaports/-/commit/02ae499d6a5e7eae0f3e8498079dd50f43a507a6
Some U-Boot integration to do, but in short, you'll soon be able to run Linux next on your phone! (and see just how many patches from the sdm845-mainline kernel haven't made it upstream yet :blobcatumm: )
Any device with decent upstream support should work, though you will need to install firmware packages yourself.
The OnePlus 6 and some MSM8916 devices are the first ones we've explicitly enabled drivers for, but we should also support the Librem 5, Qualcomm laptops, Chromebooks, etc etc..
Anything ARM64 with an EFI capable bootloader!

ngl it never quite hit home just how directly shareholders drive the direction of organisations. Seeing all the new windows laptops qcom and Microsoft are announcing, the "copilot+" bullshit, it's just so disconnected from what consumers actually want.
but hey, new things, big changes, wooo hyyype... The underlying message is that Qualcomm have just announced a brand new avenue for growth in the somewhat stagnating silicon industry. Now we can all go build "NPU"s and tell consumers the hardware they have is old and slow and shite.
Meanwhile M$, QC, and even intel/AMD get to leverage the aesthetic of growth, and line go up.

had a lazy easter monday getting the touchscreen working on the #OnePlus 8T
here it is at 120hz running #postmarketOS #GNOME mobile!
the high refresh and 2 years newer hardware definitely makes for a smoother experience overall.
