TL;DR: iOS Safari is more than an inconvenience for developers, it's the fundamental reason interoperability has been stymied in mobile ecosystems; frequent showstopping bugs, a large patch gap, and lack of competing engines ensures the web is not a credible competitor to native. Hilarious.
This can't have been a bug. It requires extra code to hide the setting in certain conditions.
So why would they hide it? For the user's convenience, as to not nag them about default browser settings when they have chosen one??
Oh wait, Safari is the default when you set up your iPhone, so you haven't chosen anything when you first visit that option.

LMFAO, you can't even open this so called "web app" on an iPhone. It will just send you to the app. If you uninstall the native app, then open the link, it will send you to the App Store.
Even on Android, you can't install it. Adding to home screen just creates a regular bookmark.
This is not a web app. It's a website.
A website that doesn't run on iOS.

The iPad should be able to run other browser engines (and not just in the EU)?
Seriously, that would unlock a whole lot more (cough competition cough) than just being able to carry it around.
