Coinbase’s “Stand With Crypto” PAC claims to have raised $87 million, but their donations list totals up to only $1,176,900. They seem to be double-counting corporate contributions to super PACs to overstate how much their “community” supports this supposedly grassroots project.
The list trails off at donations of $44.67, so there could be additional smaller donations not shown on the page, but not more than $85 million’s worth.

ugh. there's been a squatter on mollywhite[.]com for ages — at least ten years, given i remember them being there when i ultimately bought the .net.
the bright side is it helped me realize that there isn't really much benefit to having a .com, except inasmuch as people default to that when they only remember part of the domain.

I go into it in the piece, but: I don’t think there’s much good, frankly, even though I respect many of the goals. But I strongly believe that people should have the right to do things I don’t like. The focus needs to be on the fraud/scams/lack of consumer protection, not on cracking down on the technology or ramping up financial surveillance even further. Meanwhile we need to work on improving the sorry state of financial privacy.

A campaign against #NPR's new CEO, ex-#Wikimedia Foundation Katherine Maher, is trying to portray her as "anti-truth" and "anti-First Amendment" by taking quotes out of context from her past talks about Wikimedia. As a longtime Wikipedian, I think I can give a little more context about these statements — but I recognize that the people behind this campaign are, ironically, not looking for the facts.
