We paid 8.5% in ‘91 and felt lucky. I had coworkers facing double digits in the 80’s and going with the dreaded balloon mortgage where they ended up having to sell to survive.
Still, it sucks so much worse now.

Between the Great Recession when people snapped up foreclosures for rental property/flipping/tear-down rebuilds and Zillow offering what they thought a house could go for, housing is ridiculous. Our house value crept up a steady 3% a year out here, until about 7 years ago. Now the same boring little mid-century working class bungalows have nearly tripled due to investment companies playing around.

Someone in the neighborhood actually lit up Christmas decorations on their yard last week. If I lived next to them, I’d commit to year-round Halloween. Toss a Santa hat on the skeleton on Christmas Eve.

Finally got tripped up by the Adderall shortage. I almost teared up at the CVS. It’s been a week and they had no idea when it would be refilled. I ended up buying a bunch of five hour energy drinks out of desperation.
How long have you had to wait for an Adderall refill lately?

It’s hard to judge. Usually when it’s 100 here, the humidity burns off pretty quick and it feels like an oven and there is contrast just standing in the shade. I took the warning seriously since I find it hard to cool down once I overheat in high humidity. The index is pretty vague.
