also had fear that one day I will wake up with a million euro invoice in AWS and finally moved everything to a mix of cloudflare, Hetzner and my own server.
I sleep better now knowing that worst case they will shut down my service instead of happily bill be fortune.

Looking how well MS Office products are integrated together recently, for example how good is PowerPoint sharing on Teams (with fixed sound problem) I have to say Microsoft leveraged their unfair advantage and is now reaching Apple-level ecosystem for Enterprise customers.

I wonder when will we start optimizing UIs for AI looking at it instead of humans. If this is where we’re going then we’re building super inefficient APIs.

Just made a PoC of a real-time Mastodon search engine.

It currently takes local timelines of just few instances, fetches it every minute and adds results to the index.
After 15 minutes items are purged.
Use case is to search through mastodon world on real time events, like some breaking news.
It honours "noindex" flag on users accounts, although I see majority of users have opt-out which makes it kinda less usable.
I'll look how it performs and iterate later.
