We were so far from the stage and it was still incredible. I can't ever remember being in such a positive, joyous, female crowd where I felt so happy and so safe. @npub1c57…awu5 The canteen at school has terrible, terrible food but I am too lazy and disorganized to bring my own. My lovely colleague made me a beautiful condiment box, all sectioned up, full of everything from salt, pepper, soy, ketchup, chilli flakes, mayo etc. to make any lunch more tolerable. It was the sweetest and most thoughtful gesture!

I try to be very positive and cheerful about my profession: teaching. It's a fluffing tough job and you have to see the best in it - every lesson, every day, every student. And it can be the most rewarding and important job a person could do. But, my goodness, today was a challenge. When your leaders don't seem to care about their staff and are actively making it more difficult for you, you just get worn down. But. Tomorrow is a new day. At the beginning of the school year and while I am yet to drown in marking, managed to read a whole book this weekend that one of my new Year 9s proffered into my hands last week - The Devotion of Suspect X by Keigo Higashino - which I gather loads of people already know about, but had completely passed me by. Gripping, really interestingly structured, and a fantastic crime thriller. I'm so happy I'll be able to discuss it with that student next week! #Books #bookstodon #AmReading #CrimeFiction

Hello - just a very quick #Introduction (or reintroduction) as I figure out how to move instances. I gave up the bird last November in one of the migrations and haven't looked back since. I genuinely prefer this calmer, more nuanced, more enjoyable type of social media. I am a Secondary school English teacher in the UK.
