@nprofile…f9kf Good article, with from what I can tell pretty good sources. I can confirm that deepfakes haven't replaced the tried and true method of bypassing selfie KYC, but they probably will soon. The only thing holding it back is just the risk of failing the check, as it's just not consistent enough. The thing that scares me is the availability of these tools, and how plug and play (for the most part) they are. The methods of old required at least some aptitude. Truly scary stuff.

So BreachForums has been siezed...for the fifth time. The FBI seems to want to devote time and effort chasing down a marketplace which has long since been a place of anything significant.
The $2000 price for the database currently being sold by the ex-administrator should hint to the level of individuals still on the site.
Not to mention, these sorts of low-level cybercrime communities can made more useful as a door into certain groups and communites which actually cause real-world harm.
There are criminals out there, the FBI just needs to learn how to do more than just scratch the surface.
