Van "kelderende tarieven" heb ik bij mijn klanten gelukkig (nog?) niets gemerkt. Wel veel minder opdrachten (controleren van machinevertalingen weiger ik pertinent). En inflatiecorrectie kun je vergeten. Alle prijsverhogingen van de afgelopen jaren (inclusief de energierekening, waar ik als thuiswerkende zzp'er geen cent van mag aftrekken als bedrijfskosten) betaal ik dus uit eigen zak.

This was at a time when shops closed at 6pm on weekdays, except one evening a week when they closed at 9pm. So I had one evening a week and Saturdays to do my grocery shopping and run errands, just like everyone else who worked regular office hours... At least shopping hours are a lot more flexible these days and of course there's online shopping.

Absolutely agree. I used to work for a company that would send me to work on location all over the country, average commute 2 hours a day, worst one 4 hours. At least they were flexible about working from home, but not all clients were.
I have been working from home since I started my own business 17 years ago . I don't think I would be able to work in an office any more (and not just because of the commute!).

En als ze wel kinderen had gehad was ze een slechte moeder, want "hoe combineer je zo'n zware baan met kinderen"? Mannelijke presidenten hebben daar een First Lady voor, dus dan is het geen probleem... 😏
