Speaking to the air myself, not sure what to think of all this yet. True anonymity does fix part of this; it’s hard to punish a plethora of individuals who have no faces in an open and decentralized system.
But a completely anonymous social interaction misses the mark of being social entirely.
There’s definitely a place for both.

Genuine question. Have been thinking about this lately, if they can not go to a specific leader or entity of an organization. Will not they go directly to the users right away, regardless of how decentralized the system is? In that sense the companies serve as a buffer.
If not what is left is anonymity.

Maybe I'm looking at it backwards...thinking website content first and then Nostr. This would be the opposite approach, which is still valid, but it would mean hosting my main site on Nostr relays instead of my current traditional host.

#asknostr question: Does anyone know a way to distribute my blog posts on #nostr? I use Ghost CMS, and while I'm glad they decided to start working with ActivityPub, I wish they had chosen to fully embrace Nostr instead.

I am not sure this is entirely correct. I have been thinking about the "Status" argument, which is the whole reason social media is in its current state. However, the value-for-value model changes this and makes it more wholesome. Agreed, it's not about money, and that is a bad look, but the moment you exchange a valuable good for a valuable thought, you are adding status and reducing, at least in part, the nonsense of empty thinking. In that sense, I would not be quick to think you have missed the mark but more inclined to think you are on the right path. Glad to see Nostr still up and stronger after a year out myself.

We need more shop trade content at #nostr Sadly we closed the shop last year due to the lockdowns in my country, but now I am building a super basic setup at home, mainly to do things at home, so I am in the same boat, not sure how I will do it without the channels, but there is the fun I guess.
Look forward to seeing how the doors end up coming. That is a pretty big entrance!

About year 2011/2013 I was in my early 20's... when I start ready books from the east and reading history and biographies, probably the biggest one thus far has been Solzhenitsyn. As a Latin American I think we had a mix of east and northwest influence, legacy of the cold war. So people down here are still reaping the fruits of that. Then when I start traveling it became obvious. Culture is a great thing, agendas and control are not. Sadly generally speaking I belive we have a tendency for the latter's and we need to fight that.

Two things to keep in mind and in perspective as sometimes it looks like the world goes kaboom in front of our eyes, the wokeness virus is crazier than ever, and objective truth is not esteemed as solid ground anymore.
1) God is in Control, Which is offensive to many because of the timeless question, "How can God allow bad things to happen?"
2) Nations, leaders, and peoples may want to "break" from God and plot against His plans, which will not run at the end at all. He has risen, and he will come back; there is the foundation of our Christian hope
He said, "Praise the name of God forever and ever, for he has all wisdom and power. He controls the course of world events; he removes kings and sets up other kings. Not sure if it will be a distraction or not... but if you can create the option for "products" and then create a url to that product... just like the donation page, but "products". In the most basic way you created a bitcoin e commerce store alternative that would be a killer option for many. I am sure there are other option but thinking in the simplest way you can use your existing infrastructure to serve non developers that just have a website and you offer the btc payment option and the e-commerce platform.

I am running hugo and ghost sites for my projects and a shopify store. I think woocomerce run on wordpress. I would love to ditch shopify so will take a deeper look into woocomerce but I do not want to use wordpress just for get a e-commerce 😅😅
I do use wordpress from clients, but do not like it personally.

So far, the experience has been good with the UI. No questions regarding lightning... Getting into nostr and get alby helped to understand that part hehe. I already created a donation page and a nodeless address and tested it. It works out smoothly. It would be better if I reply directly on my email client to the email I get once the sender pay, but still good with the hyperlink to the email; works fine.
I would love to create payable invoice urls that I can add to specific buttons or URLs to use for products on my site... I am sure that is probably why you have the webhooks, and you have the documentation for it, so it is on me, not on you, that I do not know how to use webhooks (yet). Another reason to keep learning. I look forward to keep trying it out and seeing what I can do with Nodeless. Thank you for creating it!

3) Relays, I heard about paying #relays to avoid spammy content?
I have other questions for the comunity, but will wait till I try to figure them out for myself first.

The blocks are a great idea. Yes, the bench has gone back with me 12 years and 3 shops😅. Was our first bench. But I just installed the vice and paint it. I was spoiled with a spacious shop for some years and with covid sadly sold and close it, but kept the hand tools and the bench to start using them more at home. Back then honestly was mainly power tools... now that it's pure hobby I am learning to use my handtools more. Still a long way to go, it's very humbling and slower haha.
Fun to find all kind of makers and interest on nostr. This is a great project and really hope to see more built on this protocol.

For now I went for plywood 😅 to keep it flat. But hope to do the edge grain counter top eventually and make it bigger and sturdier. The wheels do not help me much but right now the space is a constraint.

This is better name for sure. Or something like creator zap target... I had a small acct in IG about 10 K followers...but I sold digital and hamfmade goods. Never a huge fan of "influencers" i think personally that has not been great for social media. But if you find a way to share quality content and offer digital good +zapvertaisment for your services that would be very attractive combination.
The "Daily target" would just be meet if content is of quality and valuable, there is the free exchange of value. As you mentioned people do not value content as much. But the ones like myself like want to delve into content creation need to create a good value proposition not just the content. The daily target I think is worth considering, not super sure how it would "feel".

The latter is my desire solituion. Maybe a simple phone for family use with call and private message app.
Have a separate camera and notepad and use mostly my laptop. If needed, I can have a smartphone for work with some clients that is just turn on when needed. At least that is the plan.

I am new here🙃, so still getting a grasp of all this. I think the zaps make this kind of a free market of ideas, that is pretty awesome, I can hear or not and give value or not. This is not what attracted me to nostr but certainly is a big plus for people that like to create online content like news, podcasts, etc.
The more value people decide to give to things they found valuable the better content and ideas we probably will find on this new frontier.

Installed and it's a sweet interface for sure. Better UX than Amethyst. Still for now will use Amethyst it has a option for add pictures. 🤷‍♂️
I prefer to support oppen sources for sure, but in the case of nostr since we can change clients at any time, I do not mind even paying for the one I prefer that fit my desire experience as the whole experience is based on a open base protocol, I do wonder if my private key is store locally on Plebstr since did not saw any specificon that, Amethyst does clarify that when log in (I am not a tech person by nature so likely I am misunderstanding the whole thing 😅😅, trying my best)
I look forward too see their(Plebstr) web option. So far I am using snort social... I am not a fan, but can get primal to load my settings.
Having said that I like more Amethyst for now since I can upload images directly, unless I am missing something, I did not found a way to add media, except from gift.
