My garden is full of yarrow this year, and subsequently full of wool carder bees. I’ve been watching the males literally wrestling other insects out of the sky to keep them away from the flowers they guard for their female. It’s been grand to see so many peacock butterflies this year. I have kept a patch of nettles to grow since last year as I know they can lay all their eggs in one area in large clumps - it’s so freeing to have a garden that is now doing it’s bit for the ecosystem. My cosmos have been great this year - the wet weather with occasional sunshine has really suited them so much better than last years heatwave (go figure!)

Spent the week watching this elephant hawk moth caterpillar feasting on my fuschia. A very hungry caterpillar, if you will. A cute chunk. Made a friend of a gorgeous dragonfly this week - been in the garden for the past few days. Today it allowed me to take some great footage close up on my phone.
