To anyone I’m not following:
It’s nothing personal so please don’t be offended. The main purpose of the list is to help and encourage Bitcoiners to switch from Twitter to Nostr. I personally value every single Bitcoiner on Nostr but for this list, I’ve had to set certain parameters for inclusion to avoid it becoming far too big and defeat its purpose.
There are many of you who should be included that I’ve simply missed so far and due to a significant recent inflow of qualifying accounts (courtesy of a certain shiba inu-loving shitcoiner), I’m a bit behind on updating the list. If you think you or someone else should be on there, let me know.
The list merely serves as a good starting point to get #Bitcoin signal on Nostr. To find additional Bitcoiners and amplify your signal, I recommend using the #plebchain and checking the ‘Following’ lists of other Bitcoiners.

Thanks for asking. There are only a handful of cases like that and for the vast majority of the accounts listed in the directory, the ‘Verify’ link indeed points to a tweet containing the person’s pubkey. In cases where no such tweet exists, I look for an alternative such as an identifier linked to a privately owned domain or one issued by an identifier provider that has a reliable verification process in place, as far as I can determine that. Preston Pysh’s NostrVerified.com is one of those providers. I agree that for these cases, the “proof” is not fully verifiable/reliable but the same can be said for most “verification” methods. In the end, it’s important to understand that virtually none of the accounts on Nostr are 100% reliably tied to anyone’s identity, which is great.

What’s important is that you’ve made it known that you bought a certain amount of bitcoin in the first place. That’s where the trouble begins and nothing that follows can undo that initial action (with the exception of sending it back to where you bought it and selling it there).
