Yes it’s funny I bought it first with this nice looking hammered finish powdercoat and within a week it was peeling. So I got the black one and it rusts very easily. Apparently it’s a known issue with Remington the last few years.

Nice day in the bush. I just took a few shots with the .270 at the pit near our usual deer camp, to make sure the rifle was still sighted in. Not a stellar pattern, but the first shots of the season were all good enough for solid vital hits. The first one was in the 3” spot, and the pattern was about 3”. I have it zeroed at 200 yd so it’s supposed to be 2” high at this 100 yd distance. Another couple sessions before game day and I should be dialed again.
Then we went to the lake and old original campsite a few miles away to splash around with the dog and catch some rays with a few bevvies. Ended up buck assed naked hoping no one would drive into the camp before the afternoon was done lol. May have traumatized the dog. I think the only thing that is going to get the parasite class off our backs is if a critical mass of people prep some provisions ahead of time and just decide to stop going to work for a handful of months and just spend their days gathering the essentials as their “job”. The unfortunate thing is that prepping takes money, and the rate that people can get ready for such an action is woefully slow when most of us have like $20 left over by noon on payday once bills are paid. Man I hope the next bull run rips faces off. It’s my best hope at a few years of a sovereign living before my soul shuffles off this rock.

I got a UPS to back up the power to my fiberoptic modem, router, pc, gaming console and my bitcoin node. It was pretty cool walking up to the wall outlet and yanking the power cord to the UPS and seeing everything still running off battery in less than a tenth of a 60hz cycle. Half a cup each of apple cider vinegar, sugar, water, and a tablespoon of dish soap helped empty out a portion of the population of a wasp nest in the yard we couldn’t get to. As a former farm kid, just be sure to square them away on rollover risks, restraining belts, augers and PTO’s. My Dad had me all over the county on a 1950’s era Massey as soon as I was old enough, and I was fine. But I did lose a cousin to a rollover. He got thrown from the seat when he ran a tire up over some pallets and his head ended up between the roll bar and the driveway.

If getting a critical mass of individuals onboard is hard, getting a critical mass of business owners willing to stick their necks out and stop acting as agents for the state on payday (with at-source income tax deductions) will be next to impossible. I still think we will need to reach a pain point where everyone just stops reporting to work for a couple months. Historically, it’s the only thing that’s ever gotten the politicians’ attention.

Vast swaths of BC and Alberta are bug killed. It’s a big part of the cycle that has led to the huge fires in western Canada for the last several years. But this has been happening as a natural cycle for hundreds of thousands of years. The only difference now is we have these dumb creatures building their infrastructure in the midst of it. And putting out fires/allowing fuel loads to increase. Literally everything that regulation touches has the opposite of the intended effect.

Here’s a cool poll:
Where is your locus of control? ie your sense that your decisions dictate your outcomes. Is it internal? Is it external? If it’s external, how many feet away do you envision it?
Based on my current experience, I see it about 5 feet from me. When I was younger, I felt it was miles away. I felt like life was a big whiffle bat and I was the ball, just waiting for the next hit. Things are better now.
