How does quicklisp (the tool) decide whether to load a package from Quicklisp (the repository) or Ultralisp? Is it just based on date; whichever installation for that package that happens to be newer?
Either way, having a copy of a CL system in your local common-lisp/ folder seems to override that anyway. So pseudo-vendoring (at least to your common-lisp/) is a reasonable strategy if you really want control over versioning, etc.

@npub1fzx…t6h3 This is for my #emacslisp port of Transducers though. CL has with-hash-table-iterator which makes this easy, since I can drive the iteration myself and stop when I want, but I don't see an analog in Elisp.

@npub1fzx…t6h3 There's either something up with ECL or something up with GCC, and I'd like to getting ECL running with clang but haven't had any luck yet.
I wouldn't mind outright replacing gcc with clang, but that's not an option on my distro, by the looks of it.
