@npub1chg…fqes inside WP because I don’t have any issues with it. But I know I’m in the minority and part of the reason I don’t have issues with it is because like you, I hand code everything and use only a handful of necessary plugins. And since everything works always, I’m too lazy to try and switch to anything else.

Added another GenAI bot to the list today: Applebot-Extended
Apple modeled how this user-agent functions after Google's Google-Extended. It doesn't stop crawling or affect a site's ability to be indexed and be returned in search results. The only thing it does is tell Apple that you don't want them to train off your content.

It’s starting to feel like Threads isn’t integrating ActivtyPub in good faith. Besides no new fediverse features in many months, now they’re popping up this message up which will likely discourage many users from keeping it on. And if they’re influencing people to turn it off, they could then say the data suggests people aren’t interested in the feature.

I've often thought about going on the obscure but interesting non-fiction book hunt, but have never committed.
I also recently discovered Ooh! Directory, so the other ones you mentioned got me more excited about going down those rabbit holes. And I have a just-for-fun site at https://coywolf.surf where I add all of the interesting places I find on the web and send people randomly to them, StumbleUpon style. So those will help grown that URL database 🙌
