Hmm it looks like the Pi I use for my Router is on it's way out.
Might have to change from a Pi running OpenWRT to PFSense or an alternative.
What alternatives do people recommend? Is PFSense still the best or is there something better?

Hmm, not really sure I'd say at some of these locations that a Fast charger is quick enough.
I'm rarely at a grocery store more than an hour at absolute most which would give me around 7kWh at best. Typically I'm closer to half the time though.
If I then take 4kWh that's just about enough to cover the trip to and from the store for me.
But at the same time at a grocery store 50kW gives me around 20kWh in the same time making it worth it.

what if it's genuinely making no money?
Amount of times I've seen businesses close and then locals go "oh we loved going there" yet hadn't been for years.

I was just re-designing my claw machine's PCB this morning, but now with the Pico 2 launch tricky decision to know if to try that route again or stay with traditional RPi.

Those generations of computers are great, still got one as my mini Nas.
Bonus is you can pick up an i5 as an upgrade for about a tenner too.

I use a Raspberry Pi 4 for mine. It's not FTTP so doesn't have any additional overhead. (Virgin Media modem).
But it's rarely more than 10% loaded on our 500Mbps connection. Been using it for about 2-3 years now.

As someone who has to work in a field that deals with shit like this.
It amazes me that somehow customers can dictate you can't send them an invoice without a PO number or even a reference number per invoice line!
IMO it's a their side thing to deal with, but amazingly it does seem to be a thing.

One thing I'd possibly say is to future proof your solar inverter by getting one that can have a battery hooked up later.
We've now considered getting a small battery (just to tide over the periods sometimes when solar dips) but we'd either need to replace the solar inverter for the best effeciency, or install a second just for the battery.
