My oped with him for The Guardian had been submitted before his death, and when it was published, it was a gut-punch to have to write a short note prefacing the piece with news of his death. Does ‘home’ feed mean I should only see accounts I follow? If so, that’s not happening for me. If it’s any account on my server that shows up on my ‘home’ feed, then is there a way to change it?

I'm more active on BlueSky now as more academics, journalists, and activists are slowly migrating from twitter to there, so you can find me there at @farhana@bsky.social. We're all fractured across space now because Elon broke twitter.
But I am still here and will post regularly, not going anywhere, just noting that most of us scientists are spread across several platforms. And that’s a huge time sink.
Edit: None of us are happy with another billionaire controlling the platform.

As I have said for year: #climatechange is #water change. Water or lack thereof is what impacts people the most, directly or indirectly. This is why being both a water scholar & a climate scholar makes me immediately wonder about histories & #geopolitics around water in all climate #disasters. #maui is an example.

Many appreciated my op-ed yesterday, as the important points & concrete examples resonated with them or rethink the #climatecrisis.
But a couple of folks have expressed the TINA (there is no alternative) attitude. In other words, 'my prosperity may destroy the biosphere but so what'. 👀
Hmm, I wonder where will they enjoy this prosperity when they can’t breathe the air, drink the water, food systems have collapsed, oceans acidified, stronger frequent storms & floods hit? 🤔

The capitalist model of climate governance means many people & ecosystems are seen as disposable as they don’t generate enough profit (any longer if they were exploitable before). This is a denial of #ClimateJustice globally. This is how #ClimateColoniality is perpetuated too.
