@nprofile…uk9d There are multiple reasons I’ve fallen into using the Apple Card as my default card and the big one it uses different card numbers for every aspect (NFC, EMV, swipe, type into random website), and many of them are virtual/re-rollable. The CVC code on the “type it in” virtual number is also virtual and you can enable it to change randomly (about every 3-4 days)
It’s definitely sad how necessary “protect your CC numbers” is, and the easiest solution is more, randomized virtual numbers

@nprofile…ssyg I feel like a part of it is that ad tracking in general is spooky/scary/upsetting enough that people easily assume the worst. Even if there are easier ways to track that stuff and even if sometimes the causal arrow is backwards (people see the ads for days/weeks then talk about it only then realize they are seeing the ads everywhere), the fact that tracking happens at all is still the fear/problem/annoyance.

@nprofile…4tpe @nprofile…nrwm I still have PTSD from cleaning up the mistakes of jQuery Deferred (and Dojo and Backbone relatives). I know this new API isn’t doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past and the same sorts of wild callback leaks just because it looks the same as some of the bad old predecessors Promises intentionally replaced, but I still worry what some devs are going to misuse with this all the same.
