Fajgenbaum's story is really fascinating, and I think, instructive.
He pointed out to his oncologist the pupura that would appear right before a disease flare; his dr's response was it was nothing to worry about. But Fajgenbaum was not 'worried' about them, he was pointing them out since they might indicate something about the disease process. The appearance of the pupura were what lead him to anti VEGF therapy as a means of suppressing flares.

An ideal situation would be growing under natural light in someplace sunny (but not necessarily outdoors as mentioned later in article) & possibly using sewage for nutrients. They didn't mention if the algae were engineered for production efficiency. 1/

It's been cool lately, but that will change. Is it too late to plant beets in 7b central North Carolina? Any recommendations for heat tolerant beets? Last year I was able to grow lettuce throughout the summer heat using intensive planting of a heat tolerant lettuce mix - I was wondering if beets might be possible, also.

Do you have an inoculant brand that you like? I tried a sample of Plant Revolution's Great White last year & was impressed, but their prices are ridiculous, especially if purchased directly from them vs Amazon (where reviewers are saying their packages arrived looking tampered with).

Thanks - I think I will get a Jiro. They are similar to Fuyu & that's what I've used as a GERD remedy (not responsive to PPIs or Pepcid ).
What do you think about using a mycorrhizal inoculant when planting?

I want to plant a persimmon tree in my small backyard and would like variety recommendations.
I'm in central North Carolina, Zone 7b, Trewartha code Cfhl. Last winter it got down to 11 deg F (-12 C).
