im not referring to having heard about it as would be explained by that, im referring to having experienced it personally. and im not just referring to adults being predatory but just all unsolicited lewd messages, often these come from other minors too (which also much more rarely gets moderated cause its “not predatory” and seemingly just seen as someone failing to read the room?). i think both happen more here. i dont mean to argue about it though, i dont have anything more to say than my anecdotes and my friends anecdotes

thats just my experience but others ive talked to feel similarly. it Absolutely Does happen elsewhere- the internet Does have a problem with this. fedi just has it more in my experience is all im saying

having been on twitter for years before i was here i never ever experienced meeting someone new and then them randomly sexting as often as i have here. i do think its different with fedi. it definitely does happen elsewhere, and i dont think its inherent to fedi, but anecdotally unsolicited flirting happens way more here than any other online space ive been in
